Smart lock installation starts with the physical door before it becomes a smart-home setup task. Backset, door thickness, existing deadbolt alignment and the lock's mechanical compatibility determine whether the new device can be fitted normally. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or bridge requirements matter only after that basic door fit is understood.
Check the existing door and deadbolt
Send the smart lock model and photos of both sides of the door edge and existing hardware. If the deadbolt sticks, the door is misaligned or the bore pattern does not match the product, that condition can change the job.
Door repair or drilling beyond the normal compatible replacement should be identified rather than assumed.
Install the lock hardware
The service can include removal of the compatible existing deadbolt, installation of the manufacturer-provided smart-lock components and completion of the product's normal mechanical setup.
We do not modify a door indiscriminately to force an incompatible lock into place. The product dimensions and existing prep need to support the installation.
Network, bridge and app setup
If the lock uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a hub or bridge, tell us what devices and network are already available. Manufacturer app pairing can be included when the customer has account access.
Subscription services, third-party automations and unrelated smart-home troubleshooting are outside the basic lock installation unless specifically added.
Smart locks belong inside technology setup services. A camera system should use security camera installation, while a doorbell device has its own mounting and power considerations.
Request a smart lock installation quote with the lock model, door photos, existing deadbolt details and any bridge or app requirements.
Smart Lock Installation & Smart Home Setup FAQ
How do I know whether the smart lock fits my door?
The lock specifications need to be compared with door thickness, backset, bore pattern and existing deadbolt alignment.
Can a misaligned door be repaired during installation?
Minor conditions may be reviewed, but broader door repair is not automatically part of smart-lock installation.
Do you connect the lock to Wi-Fi?
Manufacturer-defined app or network setup can be included when the required bridge, hub or Wi-Fi is already available.
Are smart-home subscriptions included?
No. Paid services or third-party platform subscriptions remain separate from the physical setup.
What photos help with compatibility?
