Assembly & Installation Questions
Answers based on the verified launch rules for service requests, products, photos, pricing and scope.
What information do you need for a quote?
The best starting point is the service or product, manufacturer/model when known, ZIP/city/state, final installation or assembly location, access conditions and any site issue that could change the job. Photos are optional but often useful.
Do I need the exact model number?
Not always, but it helps. A model number, product link or label photo can identify the correct instructions, configuration, mounting requirements and parts. If you do not know the model, describe the item and provide clear product information.
Can I request a product or service that is not listed yet?
Yes. Describe the item and the work you need. The catalog is structured around verified service families and models, so an unlisted request is reviewed first rather than automatically generating a new public page.
Why are prices not shown on the site?
Handyman in Service does not publish public prices at launch. Product complexity, quantity, access, mounting, existing conditions, removal and site preparation can change the scope, so the site uses Request a Quote / estimate instead of a generic public price.
Can I include several items in one request?
Yes. List each item, model and quantity separately. This keeps different assembly or installation requirements visible instead of blending unrelated work into one description.
Should I send photos?
Photos are optional, but they are useful when the work depends on a wall or mounting surface, an existing fixture, outdoor base, access route, damaged component or model label. Only send information relevant to the job.
What if the product has not been delivered yet?
You can still request an estimate if you have enough product information. Tell us the manufacturer/model, expected configuration and service location. Final scope may depend on the actual product and site conditions being available for confirmation.
What if parts are missing or damaged?
Mention known missing or damaged parts before scheduling. Some products cannot be completed correctly without the manufacturer-specific component, and repair or replacement parts are not automatically included in assembly.
Can old-item removal or disassembly be added?
It can be requested when relevant. Removal, relocation, disposal or disassembly should be listed separately so the estimate does not assume the work area is already empty.
Are electrical, plumbing, structural or foundation changes included?
They are not automatically included. When a product depends on new electrical work, plumbing changes, structural repair, foundation/base construction or other work outside the verified service, that condition is separated for additional assessment.
Does submitting the form book an appointment?
No. The launch site accepts quote / estimate requests only. Submitting the form does not create an appointment or guarantee that the requested time or service is available.
Can I pay online through the site?
No. Online payment is not part of the first release. The quote form is for job information and contact details only.
Does the site assign a contractor automatically?
No. Contractor assignment is not part of the launch flow. The form submits a request for review and estimate follow-up.
Do you serve my location?
The site is organized for nationwide U.S. service discovery across the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Exact availability for the specific service and property is confirmed through the quote request; location pages do not imply a local office or guaranteed nearby provider.
Are you officially affiliated with the brands or retailers shown?
A brand or retailer page is used only to organize verified product/service relationships. It does not imply an authorized, official or current-stock partnership unless that relationship is explicitly documented.
