Mailbox installation depends on the type of box and what supports it. A wall-mounted mailbox, replacement post box and new post-mounted system have different site requirements, so we first identify the product and whether an existing post or mounting surface can be reused.
Wall mount, existing post or new post
Send the mailbox model and photos of the installation area. For a wall-mounted box, show the siding, masonry or other surface. For a post-mounted mailbox, show the current post and surrounding ground.
If a new post is required, say so before the quote. Digging, concrete or removal of an old post is a separate scope from attaching a mailbox to a ready support.
Placement and existing conditions
Existing damage, rusted hardware or a leaning post should be visible in the request. We do not assume that an old mounting point is structurally suitable just because a mailbox is already there.
Any location-specific postal or property requirements remain the owner's responsibility unless they are explicitly provided for the project.
Product installation
The service can include assembling the supplied mailbox components and fastening the box to an approved existing support or installing the verified post system when that scope has been defined.
Mailbox work belongs within small home repair and handyman services, but larger masonry, concrete or structural repair is separated if discovered.
Send a mailbox installation request with the mailbox type, site photos, existing post condition and any removal or new-post work.
Mailbox Installation FAQ
Can you replace a mailbox on an existing post?
Yes when the post is in suitable condition and compatible with the new mailbox or mounting plate.
Is a new post included?
Only when a new-post installation has been specifically included in the scope.
Can an old mailbox and post be removed?
Removal can be requested separately. Show the existing setup so the work is visible before quoting.
Do you determine USPS placement rules?
The owner should provide any applicable location requirement for the property; this page does not make a universal compliance claim.
What if the mounting surface is damaged?
That condition may require repair outside the normal mailbox installation and should be assessed separately.
