Murphy and Wall Bed Installation

Send the wall bed model, room dimensions and wall details. We review access, anchoring requirements, hardware and installation scope before quoting.

Quote-ready details

  • Exact product or model when known
  • Final assembly / installation location
  • Access, mounting, base or utility conditions
  • Removal, damaged or missing parts when relevant

A Murphy bed or wall bed is not the same project as a free-standing bed frame. The cabinet or frame is designed to operate in relation to a wall, and the manufacturer’s anchoring requirements are central to the installation. We therefore need the exact model, wall location and room dimensions before the job can be scoped responsibly.

Model and wall-bed configuration

Send the manufacturer/model and identify whether the product includes storage cabinets, shelving or other modules around the bed. The family research includes wall beds with storage as well as model-specific Murphy bed systems, but each one can use a different frame and anchoring layout.

If the boxes are already opened, keep component labels and hardware organized. Large panels and mechanisms should not be mixed between modules.

Wall condition and mounting

Provide photos of the installation wall and describe the surface if known. The attachment method must match both the product instructions and the actual wall. The service does not promise structural modification or repair of an unsuitable wall as part of standard installation.

Baseboards, outlets, trim and ceiling height may influence placement. Those room conditions should be visible in the quote request so the bed is not planned for a location that conflicts with the manufacturer’s installation geometry.

Assembly and operating clearance

The work can include building the wall-bed frame or cabinet, assembling related modules, installing supplied mechanism components and anchoring the system using the confirmed method. The exact sequence follows the product documentation.

Room depth matters because the bed needs space to open and close. Furniture that blocks the operating area should be moved before installation. We do not publish one universal clearance because wall-bed dimensions vary.

Related bedroom furniture

A free-standing bed belongs under bed frame assembly, while a Murphy or wall bed remains on this page because its wall attachment changes the job. Both sit inside the broader furniture assembly category.

Request a wall-bed installation quote with the model, wall photos, room dimensions, ceiling constraints, package location and any existing furniture that must be handled separately.

Murphy and Wall Bed Installation FAQ

Why is a Murphy bed not treated as a normal bed frame?

Its operation depends on a wall-mounted or anchored system. The installation therefore includes site and mounting questions that a free-standing bed does not.

Do you need to know the wall type?

Yes. The mounting method depends on the product and supporting wall, so photos and wall information are important before scheduling.

Can storage cabinets be included?

They can be included when they are part of the exact wall-bed system and identified in the quote.

What room measurements are useful?

Wall width, ceiling height and the open floor area used when the bed is lowered are all relevant to planning.

Is wall repair part of the installation?

No repair is assumed. If the wall needs correction before the system can be mounted, that condition is reviewed separately.
